Inspired by our travels through Oaxaca city, which led us to seek refuge from the heat in many of the beautiful churches dotted through the pastel streets of this rainbow capital. Allow the textured, courtyard garden walls to transport you to your very own hacienda; with a palette that pays tribute to artist Frida Kahlo, bathed in the kaleidoscope of sunlight pouring in through the stained glass windows.

The custom made double day bed provides the perfect lounge spot during the day, and the cosiest of sleeps at night, thanks to the super soft tencel sheets.

Cocoon yourself with the velvet curtains for a blackout sleep, or you could drop the blind half way and wake up to patterned sunlight peeking in through the fretwork panel.

The hallway offers a rail with hanging space, alongside a compact en suite with a walk in shower.

Toiletries from Margate’s own Haeckels and Egyptian cotton towels are included in the room for use during your stay, with separate beach towels provided should you need.

"The Tides is a gem of a location if you want to visit Margate but not be in the centre of town. We stayed in the Balinese room which was beautifully designed and decorated, with an incredibly comfortable four poster bed. The little touches - the divine bathroom toiletries and soft fluffy towels - were lovely. I can thoroughly recommend The Tides as a wonderful getaway."
